Enola Gay's old home

This hangar at Wendover AIrport once housed the Enola Gay, the bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The 509th Composite Group was based at Wendover Field and trained above the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Wendover's airport is where parts of "Independence Day" and "Con Air" were filmed.

This memorial in West Wendover, Nev., commemorates the 509th Composite Group, the Army Air Corps Unit that dropped atomic bombs on Japan during World War II. The plane depicted is the Enola Gay. The 509th was based at Wendover Field in Wendover, Utah.

This statue of Brigham Young, on the Main Street Plaza, is part of a monument commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Mormon Pioneers' arrival in the Salt Lake Valley. The statue was also displayed at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in the 1890s.

With more than 11,000 pipes, the Salt Lake Tabernacle Organ is the largest in the church, as well as one of the finest — and most famous — musical instruments in the world. The seats around it are where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform, as well as record many of their albums.
