This is my copy of Matisse's The Italian Woman. An image of the original, is here. It was painted for a college art course (i was not an art major). the project entailed reproducing three copies of a painting by a famous artist: (1) a direct copy, (2) a black and white copy, and (3) a color negative copy. the concept was that if you looked at the both the color negative and black & white images simultaneously, your brain would interperate them combined as the original color version. this image is my best effort toward a color negative copy. it is acrylic on canvas, circa early to mid-1990s.
