this image has been a long time coming. i've made several attempts over several years to get something like this. some issue has always come up...i miss the train; i don't have my camera with me; bad exposure; camera shake; something...always something. i finally got one i can accept. although, the overcast sky makes this appear a bit washed out. and, i would prefer it were a night shot. available on RedBubble

odd bit of engineering here...the Erie Canal, at this location, crosses a natural stream. this lock was designed to bridge the stream.

this is the first film shot i have made in nearly 3 years. you'd think that i would have at least picked a more interesting subject but don't forget, this was the first shot. it was just in case i hadn't wound the film far enough. anyway, it was time for a new avatar.
