I tried shooting a lightning storm... had nothing even close to worth keeping. This is FABULOUS!!! Love the colors, too!

One of my favorite 'summer shot'.
However with the long exposure mode is not so impossible to capture lightning storm :)

Are they stars we can see in the sky? It gives the impression that the lightning is forking out of thin air with not a cloud in sight.

I don't know. I remember some stars but not so much! Sure there's some noise, maybe is a mix of noise and stars. However I think that the effects of lighting tearing apart the sky is well obtained...but I can't say if is real or not :)
