He's not a water-loving cat, but he does like to drink from everywhere except his water bowl. For example, he'll drink out of the toilet if you leave the lid open.

yeah, cat's are funny when it comes to water! I had once one that always drank from the water of the Christmas tree (we had a big basin of water to keep the tree during ~2month ;) ) that became very stinky with the time ;)

My cat drinks from the sink, and when he can't do that, he'll scoop out water from the bowl with his paw... he has extra toes, and he curls them up to hold the water.

I'm sure he's somehow related to those cats. :) And I meant sink faucet in my comment above. He loves to drink from the faucet.

my cat paws his water out of the bowl as well - some cats just prefer moving water to stagnant water.

They usually don't like water just out of the tap because of the chlorine smell. As the toilet bowl's water has had time to 'breathe', the chlorine evaporates.
