Incredible capture, the detail in amazing. Curious, what lens were you using for this?

I used a 105mm f/2.8 macro lens coupled with a 50mm f/1.8 giving 2:1 magnification.

A couple of questions, if you don't mind... what do you use to couple the lenses? And is that 50mm a macro or a regular lens? I simply love this photo.

Thanks, Celine. A coupler is just a metal ring with male filter threads on both sides. You screw it into the filter threads on one lens, then screw another lens onto the ring. I got mine from Adorama for $10 or so. And the 50mm is just a regular prime, not a macro. The other lens doesn't necessarily have to be a macro, either.

Thanks, IF. I appreciate it... I so greatly admire photos, especially your macros, and it fascinates me how you do it.

Thanks for sharing that info Incoherent Fool. I've played around with reverse mounting a 50mm on a body but never thought to stack it on a macro.
